Wild daisy flower granny square - free crochet pattern

Been collecting and admiring many flower granny square patterns from other designers. I even made a round up post here. Then an idea popped up, I can develop or modify one of my flower patterns into a flower granny square. It's a 3D flower granny square :)

This flower is another version of the daisy applique pattern I made. Wild daisy is rather small and humble but I know many love it.

Materials: ( I used )
5mm crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn: yellow, white, green and light green
Yarn needle

Abbreviations:
Sc Single crochet
Ch = Chain
Sl = Slip stitch

Inc = Increase
Dec = Decrease
Tc = Triple crochet
Dc = Double crochet
Inc tc = 2 triple crochet in same stitch
Inc dc = 2 double crochet in same stitch
Hdc= half double crochet
Dec hdc= half double crochet 2 stitches together
Inc hdc= 2 half double crochet in same stitch

This pattern is crocheted continually from flower to the square bed.

Flower:
Start with yellow yarn to make flower's pistil part.
Form a magic ring, ch 3 ( as 1st dc ), 11 dc into the ring (fasten off)
(I used chainless starting dc technique to crochet the 1st dc instead of ch 3. Like the way it turned out.)

Change to white yarn, crochet all with front - loop only * ch 4, sc into 2nd ch from hook, hdc, hdc, sl into next st. * repeat ** 12 times

Total 12 petals ( fasten off )

Square bed:
Now continue with back - loop behind the flower. Use green yarn, join yarn into any back - loop st, ch 3 ( as 1st dc ), dc into same st, inc dc into every st around, total 24 sts.
(I used standing dc technique for 1st dc instead of ch 3.)

Sl into 1st to join, ch 5 ( as 1 tc and 1 ch ), crochet 2 dc into same st, ch 1, crochet 3 dc into next 2 st, ch 1, crochet 2 dc into next 2 st, tc into same st, ch 3.
*Tc, 2 dc into same st, ch 1, crochet 3 dc into next 2 st, ch 1, crochet 2 dc into next 2 st, tc into same st, ch 3.* repeat ** 3 times.
Sl into 1st st to join.

( I used standing tc technique, just like the method used for standing dc but a bit harder. It's not crucial for a granny square but you can always try :)

Now every ch 1 gap between each 3dc shell stitch is a loop. Change to light green yarn, ch 4 ( as 1st dc and ch 1 ) or standing dc and ch 1, *(crochet 3 dc into next loop , ch 1) x 2 times. 3 dc into next loop , ch 3, 3 dc into same loop, ch 1.* repeat ** 2 times.
(Crochet 3 dc into next loop , ch 1) x 2 times. 3 dc into next loop , ch 3, 2 dc into same loop, sl into 1st st to join. ( fasten off and weave in end ).

That's it! What should I do next with these flower squares? Blanket, throw, bag or pillow case... whatever... If that's in your mind, too. I think there's one online class you might want to watch: Joining Crochet Motifs ( this is an affiliate link, thank you :) with many joining techniques and tips to learn.
Happy crocheting xD
